The Role:
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Retail Manager to take full responsibility for the daily operations of our convenience store and off-licence. This pivotal role requires a strong leader with a proven ability to drive sales, effectively manage inventory, uphold exceptional customer service standards, and ensure the meticulous presentation and compliance of the store, particularly concerning the legal aspects of off-licence operations.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all facets of daily store operations, including efficient opening and closing procedures.
* Recruit, train, motivate, and manage a dedicated team of retail assistants.
* Consistently ensure the delivery of outstanding customer service.
* Oversee all off-licence activities, strictly adhering to UK licensing laws, including diligent age verification for all age-restricted sales (alcohol, tobacco, etc.).
* Implement robust stock management systems, covering ordering, receiving, rotation, and attractive merchandising of all product categories, with specific attention to alcoholic beverages.
* Develop and maintain high visual merchandising standards to enhance customer appeal, ensuring responsible and compliant display of age-restricted products.
* Process all cash and card transactions accurately and conduct precise till reconciliation.
* Monitor and analyse sales performance, implementing proactive strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets.
* Maintain an impeccably clean, organised, and safe retail environment at all times.
* Efficiently and courteously handle all customer inquiries, feedback, and resolve issues.
* Ensure absolute compliance with all relevant retail regulations, especially those pertaining to alcohol sales, underage sales prevention, food safety, and health & safety standards.
* Create and manage staff rotas to ensure optimal staffing levels and operational efficiency.

What we're looking for:
* Demonstrable experience in a retail management role, ideally within a convenience store, supermarket, or similar fast-paced retail setting, with significant experience managing an off-licence or products with age restrictions.
* In-depth knowledge and practical understanding of UK licensing laws concerning the sale of alcohol and tobacco.
* Exceptional leadership, team building, and performance management capabilities.
* Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
* A genuinely customer-centric approach, coupled with a friendly, approachable, and professional demeanour.
* Excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, thriving under pressure.
* Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., POS systems, spreadsheets).
* Flexibility and willingness to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as necessitated by business needs.

What we offer:
* Salary: Competitive, ranging from £32,000 - £38,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
* Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with the necessary flexibility to cover store operational hours.
