Indian Street Food Corner Ltd is a fast-growing vegetarian eatery specialising in authentic North and South Indian Street food. Our vibrant menu includes favourites like Dosa, Pav Bhaji, Pani Puri, Vada Pav, and other beloved regional dishes, all served with a commitment to purity, freshness, and flavour.
We're now seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and take our culinary experience to the next level.
Job Description / Key Responsibilities
• Lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient and consistent food preparation and presentation
• Create, develop, and maintain authentic Indian vegetarian menus, including regional street food from North and South India
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a culture of high standards, hygiene, and teamwork
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and allergy awareness regulations as per UK standards
• Oversee food quality control and portioning to maintain authenticity and customer satisfaction
• Collaborate with management on seasonal menu updates, events, and innovation in offerings
• Handle staffing rotas, stock control, performance appraisals, and ongoing training requirements
Person Specification / Requirements
Essential:
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 1 years in a senior or Head Chef role
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on expertise in North & South Indian vegetarian cuisine
• Proven ability to manage kitchen operations, staff, and compliance in a commercial setting
• Strong leadership, time management, and communication skills
• Food Hygiene Level 3 certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Eligibility to work in the UK
Desirable:
• Formal culinary training (degree / diploma in Hotel management or similar )
• Experience in running or setting up a new kitchen operation
• Passionate about sustainability, locally sourced ingredients, and evolving food trends
