Contracted hours: up to 30 hours per week (minimum 16 hours)
Duration: Fixed Term 12 / 18 months

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Bro Gwydyr is a vibrant and busy Ministry Area within the Diocese of Bangor. This role is to develop our ministry to families and young people in Bro Gwydyr, together with academic training from St. Padarn’s Institute.

The post holder will be a part of the Ministry Team and will, with colleagues plan and deliver community and family focussed activities. They will be a first point of contact for the families ministry in Bro Gwydyr and will take a lead role in developing new patterns of working in this area.

Working up to 30 hours per week (minimum 16), the role allows flexible scheduling but will require working across the Bro Gwydyr Ministry Area. Some weekend working will be essential.


MAIN DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Planning and re-starting the Parent and Toddler group in conjunction with the Ministry Team and volunteers in Betws-y-Coed.
2. Building on the good relationship with our local schools. Planning and delivering activities with the Ministry Team in School or at Church locations.
3. Planning and delivering, with volunteers, a garden club for families around the new Dolgarrog Church Garden.
4. Supporting activities with the 1st Gwydyr Scout Group
5. Academic work with St. Padarn’s Institute to level 4
6. In association with the Bro Gwydyr Administrator providing high quality advertisements and social media for events and activities.

7. Compliance & Training
• Keep up to date with Church in Wales policies on safeguarding, risk assessments, GDPR, and Welsh language.
• Attend training as required to fulfil the role.



PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential:
• A person of Christian Faith
• Proficient with internet-based tools especially a variety of Social Media.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience of working independently and prioritising workload.
• Able to access the Bro Gwydyr area by private and or public transport.
• Experience in working with families and children.
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Willingness to work flexibly.
• A Welsh Speaker or confident learner


Desirable:
• Experience using Canva, Wordpress, MailChimp or similar tools.
• Familiarity with Church in Wales structures and practices.
• OCR/RSA Level II in Word Processing or equivalent.
