Description
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Waste Driver - Manual Labour to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of waste materials from residential and commercial properties. As a Waste Driver, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our community by ensuring that waste is collected and disposed of in accordance with local regulations. The position requires physical stamina and manual dexterity as you will be handling waste bins and carts while driving a waste collection vehicle. You will be expected to work in various weather conditions and maintain a positive attitude throughout your shifts. Additionally, you will be interacting with the public, so strong communication skills are essential. Responsibilities
Safely operate a waste collection vehicle along designated routes.
Collect waste materials from residential and commercial properties in a timely manner.
Perform manual handling of waste bins and carts, ensuring efficient loading and unloading of waste materials.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
Maintain accurate records of waste collected, including quantities and types of materials.
Comply with all local regulations regarding waste disposal and environmental standards.
Interact professionally and courteously with residents and business owners during collections.
Requirements
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
Familiarity with local waste management regulations and practices is a plus.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with the public.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform outdoor labor.
Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance.
Previous experience in waste collection or driving heavy vehicles is preferred.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 08:00
End Time: 16:00
Pay Per Hour: £15.50
Location: Swindon, Wiltshire
