A fantastic and rare opportunity has become available to join a growing and passionate team of staff in a rewarding department working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in KS3 and KS4. We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable Deputy Inclusion Lead (SEMH) to join us in creating an outstanding department who strive for educational excellence for all students with SEMH needs at Oasis Academy John Williams. The successful candidate will be a passionate and driven individual with good communication, creative, practical and organizational skills, and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our students and their communities.

The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Department consists of a team of highly committed and motivated individuals, who consistently deliver high quality interventions and provide outstanding support for students with additional needs. Students are at the forefront of everything we do to enable us to support the student’s development in all areas of life, so they can achieve their best and be a valuable member of their community. As a team, we will create opportunities for students to become all rounded individuals. The department has great links to within the community and wider OCL and is a great place to facilitate collaborative working.
The successful candidate will support students with SEMH needs in KS3 and KS4 to ensure they make progress in all areas of the curriculum, with their emotional and social skills and school life. Oasis Academy John Williams is a thriving secondary school located in Hengrove, South Bristol, serving just over 880 students aged 11-16. Our student population is 84% White British, 21.22% SEN, 43% Disadvantaged and 32% FSM. We are proud to be the school of choice for so many in our local community and we have been heavily over-subscribed for the past seven years.
