Summary
Rikama Education Limited are working with a day and residential SEN School in the area who are looking for Residential Support workers who are caring individuals to support young people in a residential setting on the school grounds.
As a Residential Support Worker you will help the school to create a caring, supportive and safe atmosphere for the young people where they can enjoy learning and social activities. You will work with within a team environment and will have plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and grow your career.
The shifts required for Residential Support Workers are Monday - Friday : 7.30am to 10am and 3.30pm-10pm
Saturday - Sunday (option shift but not essential) 7:30am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm and 7:30am - 10pm
Skills Required for Residential Support Workers
- First-class communication skills are essential in the role, along with sensitivity, integrity and adaptability.
- Experience of working with children and young people within a health or social care environment, including personal care and moving and handling training can be provided for the right candidate.
- Working knowledge of risk assessment practice and the ability to respond effectively to differing demands when required.
- Desired is experience of working with children and young adults with diverse SEN Conditions and medical needs including potentially physical needs
- Previous experience in a similar role
You will need to have a DBS registered to the update system which caters for children and adults as the age range for the young people based at the school are aged 5-19.
