What skills and experience we're looking for

Be the link that makes the difference! Join us as an Assistant Home School Liaison Officer and help us build bridges between home and school—every single day.

Do you have a heart for young people and a gift for communication? Are you someone who can spot when something’s not quite right—and step in with empathy and action? If you believe that every student deserves support at school and at home, we’d love to hear from you.

As our Assistant Home School Liaison Officer, you’ll work closely with families, students, and staff to break down barriers to learning. You’ll support attendance, wellbeing, and engagement—helping students feel seen, supported, and safe.

Whether it’s making a call home, meeting with a parent, checking in with a student, or working with external agencies—you’ll be a trusted, consistent presence that makes all the difference.

You’ll need to be someone who:

• Builds trust quickly and communicates with compassion
• Has experience working with young people or families (in education, care, youth work, etc.)
• Understands the importance of good attendance and wellbeing in student success
• Stays calm under pressure and handles sensitive situations with care
• Is organised, proactive, and great at following up
• Holds a full UK driving license and has access to a vehicle
