For further information on this role, please see the attached detailed Job Description and Person Specification: The ANP will order investigations (e.g. X Rays, blood tests) and interpret results and escalate concerns and abnormalities as appropriate to the Consultant or Outreach teams (if in RMH Chelsea). Take responsibility for organising, undertaking and interpreting investigations, as appropriate, to ensure patients are fit as possible for treatment where necessary discussing with the Consultant. Provide visible clinical leadership and expert evidence-based care through advanced assessment, diagnosis, and management of acutely unwell oncology patients; admit or discharge as appropriate in AOS, and request, interpret, and act upon diagnostic investigations in line with agreed protocols. Review and prescribe medication in a timely manner ensuring it is within own level of knowledge and competence and within the scope of the Trusts Policy for Non-Medical Prescribing qualification. Following protocol, ensure through good practice that customer care initiatives are improved and sustained. Act as a resource for expert advice to patients, relatives/carers and staff. To lead the provision of care in accordance with the Trust Policies reflecting current trends and developments in practice. Applications are also welcome from individuals who do not yet meet all the essential criteria. In line with the ACCEND framework, such applicants may be considered for a Band 7 trainee role, with a structured development plan and supervision to support progression to a full Advanced Practice position. If they remain with the organisation and are subsequently offered a permanent post, continued development and progression to Band 8a will be supported.
