Crynodeb
The post holder will work with the Lower GI team in the Colorectal service and will support Clinical Governance and the Colorectal Cancer and Benign Gastro Multi-disciplinary team. They will attend colorectal theatres, colorectal clinics and diagnostic endoscopy. The post holder will work with the colorectal surgeons to provide post-operative care including returns to theatre if there are complications. The post holder will be ultimately responsible to the Clinical Director. The proposed timetable will be discussed with applicants. This will need to be changed from time to time to respond to the demands of the service. In case of difficulties of any kind, the post holder will seek the advice of the appropriate consultant. Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of all colorectal and general surgical patients. To work closely with General Surgery department in the management of General Surgery patients requiring admission Teaching and training of intermediate grade and junior medical staff, nursing staff and medical students. Participation in the emergency on-call rotas. 1. Job Plan Contents A 10 PA week consists of 8.5 PAs direct clinical care and 1.5 PAs for Supporting Professional Activity (SPA). On-Call 2.5 PAs SPA 1.5 PAs DCC - 6.0 PAs Job planning will be used to reflect the needs of the department, ensuring that contracted work is appropriately remunerated. An initial job plan review will be undertaken by the Clinical Director after 3 months and annually thereafter, or if the work pattern changes. Any additional PAs contracted by the Trust will be agreed as a separate part of the job plan by mutual consent.
