Days & Hours: Bank Hours, flexible days and nights available - ad hoc and variable to meet the needs of Alex and his family, which will include cover for team absences.
Pay:
£15.44 per hour, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm (Days),
£16.54 per hour, Weekends and Bank Holidays, 8:00am to 8:00pm (Days) and Monday to Friday, 8:00pm to 8:00am (Waking Nights),
£17.64 per hour, Weekends and Bank Holidays, 8:00pm to 8:00am (Waking Nights)

Driver required? Essential (will need own car to get to work)
Driving Clients Car? Yes, our clients Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV)
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, On duty and to attend trainings
Essential Experience: Complex medical needs, PEG feeding, Hickman Line and supporting a child through waking nights
Desirable: Experience working with children with trauma and an interest in therapy
Pets: Guinea pigs, 1 Dog
Accommodation (while on duty): Fully adapted family home, with separate Carer's entrance and Carer's own kitchen facilities

Introducing Alex
Alex is a lovely young boy born in 2013 who thrives on one to one attention. He has neurological disabilities and requires Carers/Support Workers to help him. He enjoys interacting with toys that have sound and lights when activated and playing with his younger brothers. He verbalises through the use of sounds as he is unable to talk.
Alex lives at home with his parents and two brothers and is looking for Carer/Support Workers to join his established care team lead by a Nurse Team Leader to provide one to one care and support for him, and his family. The role will involve working in his family home as well as attending activity groups and therapy sessions in the local area.
During night shifts, you will be required to monitor and attend to Alex as necessary and will be expected to keep accurate notes of his sleep pattern, including reasons for him waking and actions required to resettle him. You will assist with all aspects of his care and personal hygiene required during the day or night, which may include the giving Alex his medication, liquids and feeding as well as changing his bed linen.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to join Alex's dedicated home care team and develop existing skills and support this very special little boy.
