Available for either 52 week/year or term-time:
£27,808- £29,236 per annum 40 hours, 52 weeks
OR
£22,694- £23,859 for 40 hours, 37 weeks
Starting salary is subject to qualifications
(This salary includes a market supplement for Residential Support Workers)
Sleep-ins paid at an extra £78.48 per night (This equates to approximately £3,500 additional payment when working 1 sleep-in shift per week)
Based in Carmarthen or Llanelli
Applicants who apply for this role at the current time will receive a Welcome Bonus of £1,500 (subject to Tax/NI) after successful completion of their 6-month probation period
Ruskin Mill Trust currently offers residential support for students, providing Practical Skill Therapeutic Education for young people aged 16 to 25 years who have a range of learning difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorders and behaviours that challenge. Our service is continually developing and we are always looking for committed individuals who feel they can help us to achieve our aims. Individual development is given the highest priority together with the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of a positive and progressive service.
Welsh speaker desirable but not essential.
In order to be successful in this role you will:
- Have a strong desire to support young people, have excellent observational skills, and the ability to problem solve and think creatively to enable our young people to reimagine their potential
- Be a patient, caring, compassionate with a young person-centred nature
- Demonstrate the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations, be a team player with experience of support work in both educational and residential settings
- Have emotional intelligence and resilience with the ability to react calmly in stressful situations
- Be able to work flexible hours as this role works predominantly evenings, weekend and sleepovers on a rota basis
- A NVQ 3 in Health and Social Work would be desirable, but not essential, as Ruskin Mill Trust will financially support you to gain this qualification
-Due to the locations of our team houses being a driver with access to your own vehicle is essential. Shifts involve working primarily during the evenings and weekends, including sleepovers.
