Position: Primary Class Teacher
Location: Bassaleg, Newport
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, term time
Salary Details: up to £38,00 per annum DOE
You’ll be working with children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You’ll be there to help them learn, develop their abilities and raise their self-esteem. You will need to be resilient and dedicated, but those huge small victories that you achieve will be something you’re really proud of.
Who we are:
Greenfields school located in Bassaleg, Newport supporting learners aged 9-16 with learning differences. The school is registered to provide education for up to 20 pupils, who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD). We cater for a mix of residential and day placements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Create a safe and nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters positive behaviour management.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and behaviour.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a collaborative education experience.
- Encourage creativity and critical thinking through interactive activities and projects.
- Maintain classroom discipline while promoting respect, inclusivity, and cooperation among students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices.
About You:
- Must hold a PGCE qualification or QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- Strong understanding of the curriculum and a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Passionate about creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
- Dedicated to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
