Job Title: South Staffordshire Water Charitable Trust Trustee

Salary: Unremunerated except travel expenses

Job Type: Voluntary

Location: Green Lane Walsall/Fulbourn Road Cambridge

Hours: On average 3 hours every 3 months

The Charitable Trust is seeking bold, innovative thinkers to join its trustee board and help deliver support to any of our
customers who are struggling with financial hardship to meet the cost of their water bill, ensuring lasting change in the
communities we serve. We all strive to make a difference, but you can also care enough to commit your time and your expertise.

We are passionate about supporting our customers in many different ways. The trust offers independent support and, since its
launch in 1993, has provided thousands of our customers with grants that cover the cost of their water bills. As a registered
charity, the trust is administered by a board of trustees, assisted by representatives from South Staffs Water.

As a member of the board of trustees, the role will involve reviewing applications and making decisions regarding grants as well
as establishing policies and managing resources.

To be eligible for the role, trustees will have to commit on average, 3 hours every three months to study papers, preparing for
and attending meetings. You will normally be asked to attend four video conference meetings per year, or in person at our offices
in either Green Lane, Walsall or Fulbourn Road Cambridge. Travel expenses will be paid in return where applicable.

Key responsibilities:

* Considering applications where they may be a more complex case
* Making decisions regarding grants
* Reviewing and establishing the trust policies
* Managing the trust resources and budget

You will need:

* Have experience in dealing with individuals facing difficulties
* To be able to commit to four quarterly meetings each year
* A willingness to be challenging, but constructive and an ability to engage with detail
* To bring relevant experience from your own sector

How to apply

If you are someone who wants to engage in really changing the lives of people who are affected by financial difficulty, apply for
this role by including a brief covering letter explaining why you are interested in becoming a trustee. If you’re driven to make a
difference, this is your opportunity to be part of lasting change in the communities we serve.
