We are looking to appoint a paediatric clinical research fellow to support the establishment of new studies and the recruitment of patients into NIHR portfolio studies (including industry studies). This post will assist the Children’s Clinical Research Facility (CCRF) nursing staff when clinical input is required in studies of all sub-specialties of paediatrics. Sub-specialities in the hospital include (but not limited to) gastroenterology, diabetes, and endocrinology, respiratory, haematology, neurology, PCCU and neonatology.

Bothposts are 50% clinical 50% research for a period of 12 months and would be suitable for trainees interested in out of programme experience (OOPE).

The successful applicants would be encouraged and supported in developing and taking on a project of their own over the time in the post.

The key aims are supporting the CCRF team and the principal investigators in all medical issues to increase patient recruitment into NIHR portfolio studies and help take on and set up new studies.

· To support recruitment into portfolio of research projects, and to support the smooth running of all research studies. This will includepatient visits, data entry work, administrative work and liaising with sponsors and multidisciplinary teams.

· To undertake new research projects under the supervision of the principal investigator and Director of Research.

· To support all research work within the Paediatrics team and advocate for the inclusion of research activities within the paediatric department

· The successful applicant will be encouraged to apply for research grants for small research projects that may be feasible within the timeframe of the post.

· To ensure that all research is undertaken according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), as well as SOPs and trial specific protocols
