Summary
We are looking for a Trust Doctor (ST1+ equivalent) to fill a gap in our resident rota. The post-holder will be part of the SHO-level rota and attend their departmental teaching programme sessions, including simulation training. An educational supervisor will be allocated and support will be provided for portfolio development.
Our department has a reputation as a friendly, supportive place to work and we have a track record for getting doctors onto recognised training schemes, e.g. via completion of CREST forms.
The Emergency Department ED at Newham University Hospital (NUH) in East London sees over 90,000 emergency patients every year and an average of 500 patients per day. It is a Trauma Unit with strong links to the Major Trauma Centre at the Royal London Hospital, which is also part of Barts Health. NUH provides all the services expected of a district general hospital including acute medicine, specialist medicine, critical care, child health, women’s health, surgery, long-term care and diagnostics. There is also a dedicated Stroke Unit which specialised in rehabilitation of patients who have usually been cared for initially on the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit HASU at the Royal London Hospital.
