Contract Type: Permanent or Fixed Term
Hours: Can commit to a minimum of 10-30 hours per week

Live Life Aberdeenshire is recruiting Health and Wellbeing Instructors as part of our commitment to prevention and early intervention. With an older adult population forecast to grow by 28% by 2030, this role is a key part of our strategy to support people to stay well, independent, and active for longer.
About the Role
As a Health and Wellbeing Instructor, you will:
- Support individuals to improve their physical and mental wellbeing through tailored physical activity and health behaviour change
- Use a person-centred, empowering approach, helping people build confidence and take control of their health
- Improve health literacy through informal education and motivational support
- Deliver sessions primarily within Live Life Aberdeenshire sports centres, with some community outreach and partnership working
- Work alongside health professionals, community groups, and internal teams to deliver impactful, joined-up support
What We’re Looking For:
- Preferably a Level 4 qualified instructor (e.g. Exercise Referral, Long-Term Conditions), though we will consider applicants with Level 3 qualifications who are willing to upskill to Level 4 within the first 12 months
- Experience in fitness, health improvement, or supporting behaviour change
- A genuine passion for supporting others to lead more active and healthy lives
- A flexible, collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
- Willingness to engage with diverse communities and ability to travel

Responsibilities
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
