About Freebridge Community Housing:
Our Freebridge Community Housing goal is to provide affordable, safe, and quality homes for current and future generations, for those who need a place to call home. Freebridge was set up in 2006, to receive the transfer of the Borough Council of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk’s housing stock. We now have over 7500 properties across west and north Norfolk, in addition to building new homes for social and affordable rent, and to support those who want to move into shared home ownership. We’ve had numerous achievements, including delivering our tenants' promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living. What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the operational delivery of the asbestos and water hygiene service, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and best practice requirements.
- Monitor and ensure contractors deliver services in accordance with contractual obligations, taking corrective action when necessary.
- Provide expert advice and support in asbestos and water hygiene, ensuring safety and compliance across all housing and communal assets.
- Conduct risk assessments in line with the program schedule and ensure timely completion of associated works/inspections.
- Lead substantive repairs and improvements related to asbestos and water hygiene.
- Assist in budget management, IT system implementation and the development of relevant compliance strategies and policies.
- Support the delivery of a high-performing, customer-centric service by effectively handling complaints and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the production of asbestos and water hygiene key performance information to provide assurance on compliance with asbestos and water hygiene obligations.
What we’re looking for:
- Knowledge and experience in asbestos and water hygiene management within a social housing or related sector.
- Demonstrable experience of formulating and delivering asbestos/ water hygiene programmes.
- Strong understanding of contract management frameworks and statutory, regulatory, and best practice requirements for asbestos and water hygiene.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data clearly.
- Proficient in IT, project, and budget management.
- Hold the BOHS P405 – Management of Asbestos in Buildings (including Asbestos Removal) qualification demonstrating a thorough understanding of asbestos legislation, surveying techniques, and safe management practices in line with the
Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ACOP L8 – Legionnaires’ Disease: The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems, with proven experience in conducting water hygiene risk assessments and implementing control measures.
- HNC in Building Construction / Building Surveying or a related subject.
- Full UK driving license and use of a vehicle insured for business use.
