The Sport subject area is based within the Professional Practice side of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education. Staff and students are located at the USW Pontypridd site (Sport Park & Upper Glyntaff). The University vision is to be “the provider of choice in Wales and beyond for students and organisations who value vocationally focused education and applied research which provides solutions to problems that affect society and the economy.”
The philosophy of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education has always been to deliver the highest quality of teaching and learning by offering a distinctive challenged based learning environment. The most innovative and up-to-date teaching methods enable us to meet the current and future needs of organisations and professional practitioners.
Sport are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Football Coaching to become an integral part of the teaching team across undergraduate courses in this subject area. The successful candidate would also supervise undergraduate taught students. It would be desirable for the appointment to have knowledge of wider sports coaching, sport and exercise science and sports event management. The ability to relate pedagogy to other sports would also be desirable. Experience of having taught through a blended learning approach and the use of technology enhanced learning would also be an advantage as this will be an integral part of the role for the successful candidate.
