Are you an experienced Plant Fitter with a passion for heavy machinery? We’re looking for skilled Plant Engineers to join our dynamic Plant Operations Division. In this hands-on role, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining and servicing our extensive hire fleet ensuring reliability and performance across a wide range of projects.
How This Role Supports the Delivery of Hire Solutions:
As a Plant Fitter, your expertise is central to keeping our fleet hire-ready and performing at its best. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive dependable, high quality equipment that meets their needs on time, every time
By proactively identifying and resolving issues, you’ll minimise downtime, maintain service reliability, and contribute directly to the success of our hire operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, delivering efficient and effective solutions.
• Ensure all machinery operates at optimal performance levels.
• Proactively identify and resolve potential faults before they escalate.
• Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to customers and colleagues.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including parts used.
• Collaborate with team members to foster a positive and productive workplace.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and safe work procedures.
• Escalate concerns promptly to supervisors or the Depot Manager.
• Uphold Jarvie Plant’s high standards and contribute to excellent customer service

• Relevant qualifications in mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical engineering (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ, HND).
• Strong knowledge of heavy plant systems and proven industry experience.
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A customer-focused mindset and commitment to service excellence.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
