A lovely family in Clapham, London is looking to hire a Full-time Nanny to assist them in looking after their two school-aged children. They seek someone friendly, flexible and enthusiastic who can carry out all childcare duties. The ideal candidate will provide attentive childcare and take on additional responsibilities such as organising birthday parties, managing hair appointments, running errands, coordinating grocery shopping, cooking meals for the children and occasionally the family, and handling household PA tasks like scheduling and liaising with contractors. The role requires someone highly organised, proactive and comfortable balancing childcare with household management to support the family's daily life. It would be ideal if the nanny is flexible to join them once or twice a week per year when they travel to Europe. A driver who holds a full driving license would be a bonus for this role.

A valid first aid qualification is a requirement for this position.

Working hours: During term time; Monday and Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm, Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 6:30 pm, approximately 33 hours per week plus a babysitting per month every Wednesday. During school holidays; Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm

Duties include:

Keep a watchful eye during playtime, both indoors and outdoors.
Teach and remind children about safety rules (crossing streets, stranger danger)
Ensure safe use of toys, playground equipment, and technology
Encourage independence, like allowing them to help set the table or pack school snacks
Help children get dressed in the morning if needed
Encourage good hygiene habits like washing hands, brushing teeth, and using the restroom properly
Assist with hair brushing and other grooming as needed
Help with school homework and projects, ensuring understanding without doing the work for them
Engage in educational games or activities that reinforce what they’re learning in school
Plan outdoor activities like biking, sports, or playground visits to encourage physical exercise
Encourage imaginative play and social interaction, such as role-playing games or board games
Accompany children to and from school, extracurricular activities, and playdates
Prepare backpacks, sports gear, or supplies needed for activities
Establish and follow a consistent bedtime routine
Provide updates on daily activities, homework progress, mood, and any notable events
Alert parents to any concerns, such as illness, behavioural changes, or injuries
Child related housekeeping
Arrange and confirm playdates, parties, and family gatherings
Liaise with other household staff (cleaners, tutors) to coordinate schedules and duties
Oversee deliveries and household maintenance appointments
Assist with grocery shopping and meal planning coordination
Manage household supplies and inventory, including children’s necessities (clothes, school supplies, toys)
Prepare balanced meals and snacks for the children
Encourage trying new foods and promote healthy eating habits
