More detail about the role Job summary This post provides a unique opportunity to join the pharmacy team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a highly motivated, adaptable and conscientious full-time registered Pharmacy Technician to join our existing team of Technicians, Assistants and Pharmacists. You must have an eye for detail, work with a high level of accuracy and have effective interpersonal skills. The Royal Devon was established in April 2022, bringing together the expertise of both the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of the Trust, youll be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients when they need it most. Main duties of the job Job Description (Please note the job description is subject to band matching) Duties will include: Labelling, dispensing and final accuracy checking of prescriptions Receiving and Issuing prescriptions Assist with the day to day supervision and co-ordination of aseptic preparation, dispensing and checking activities Preparation of injectable medicines using aseptic technique in pharmaceutical isolators Assist with the day-to-day orderings of standard medicines Assist with the processing of invoices, and escalating discrepancies Assist the Procurement Technician and Lead Procurement Technician with projects designed to improve auditability and/or efficiency We are a department that is committed to the expanding role of technicians, and you will gain experience in many aspects of hospital pharmacy practice in our busy department. The role will require you to: Work in various sections of the pharmacy department undertaking technician duties on a rotational basis, (Dispensary, Aseptic services, Procurement) whilst demonstrating professional attitudes and behaviours in line with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Standards for Pharmacy Professionals. This post has been identified as involving access to vulnerable adults and/or children and in line with Trust policy successful applicants will be required to undertake a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure Check/Enhanced Disclosure Check. Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Requirement to participate in 7 day working to include late duties, bank holidays and weekend working. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date.
