We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Careers and Employability Coach to join our dynamic team at Peterborough College. In this role, you will play a crucial part in guiding and supporting our adult students (19+) towards fulfilling career paths.
Key Responsibilities:
Career Guidance and Support:
• Provide personalised advice and support to students on various career options, learning pathways, and employability skills.
• Conduct workshops and sessions on job searching, interview techniques, CV writing, and other essential career-related topics.
• Assist students in exploring and utilising digital tools for job searching, such as LinkedIn and social media platforms.
• Actively seek external organisations and guest speakers to target curriculum areas and students with relevant industry links to contribute to the overall personal development and careers programmes
Career Events and Initiatives:
• Collaborate with the Careers team to organise and implement career-focused events, guest speaker programs, and university application support initiatives.
• Promote internal and external volunteering and employment opportunities, particularly for mature learners.
Administrative Duties:
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress on the college's monitoring system.
• Record the impact, including attendance monitoring, for workshops and feedback from students to inform future employability activity
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Strong understanding of the education and employment landscape, particularly for adult learners.
• Level 2 English and Maths
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in providing careers guidance and support.
• Proven ability to deliver engaging workshops and presentations.
• Proficiency in using digital tools and technologies.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
