This exciting new position has created an opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Facilities Supervisor to join our team.

You will be based at Yeatman Hospital in Sherborne and will support the management of the day to day running of the facilities team Portering and Domestic's.

The position is for 37.5 hours Monday to Friday 7.30am to 3.30pm, one late shift a Fortnight to support and manage evening team, with one day a month possibly at the weekend - : the shift pattern will be shifts to suit the needs of the service, flexibility can be offered to the successful applicant and happy to look at less hours for the right applicant.

Applicants will need a full UK driving Licence

This post is part of the Facilities & Estates Service that Dorset Healthcare may transfer to an NHS wholly owned subsidiary company, from November 2025 or later. This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing, expanding, organisation with a strong commitment to NHS values and putting patients first. The NHS wholly owned subsidiary will continue to offer NHS Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions, including NHS pensions, to staff who transfer as well as new staff it recruits itself.

The successful applicant will be knowledgeable in cleaning processes and have an awareness and understanding of Infection Prevention Control and COSHH.

You should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the expectations of a cleaning service and ideally have experience in a similar Supervisor role.

Duties will be interesting and varied to include,

A clear understanding of the hospital cleaning service and the standards required, regarding infection control.

Day to day Supervision of the domestic team

Carrying out cleaning audits, pre-planned maintenance to include floor scrubbing, radiators etc, rota planning, and other office-based work as requested via a computer system

Ward work supporting the team during periods of annual leave, vacancies and sickness with a "hands on approach"

Staff training and mentoring

Contact with Trust staff in regard to any domestic cleaning issue

Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
