KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: To ensure that daily routine vehicle checks are undertaken and recorded including oil, water, tyres etc, any faults reported so they can be rectified and adhering to relevant transport regulations; To complete the vehicle log sheet after each use. Be responsible for the security and safety of loads carried. Be responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle, including the clean up of any spillages. To undertake all daily deliveries and collections of pathology specimens, mail, consumables etc within the departmental working hours (currently 06:30 - 23:30). To ensure all equipment is secured using the appropriate equipment. To ensure the safe delivery of any pharmacy, Chemotherapy and controlled drugs to authorised personnel and that a signature is obtained. To report any incidents or accidents using the correct reporting procedure. To ensure delivery of X-rays, Medical Records etc to various locations. To undertake delivery of any other relevant items as requested by Management To deal politely with queries from users when delivering and report back any issues that may occur. To sort mail from various locations, ensuring deadlines are met for next runs. To carry out all tasks in a prompt, safe and efficient manner. To demonstrate professionalism, honesty and integrity in all matters of a confidential nature. To be smart of appearance and dress in the uniform provided. To attend mandatory training and continuing education courses as required. To attend in-house training, including Transport Induction, basic Health and Safety and COSHH awareness sessions. To ensure that all statutory requirements, including those for Health and Safety are met and to advise senior staff on areas of concern.
