What We’re Looking For – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a recent graduate with a 2:1 or above in Psychology, Education, or a related subject
• Have experience working with children or young people with SEN, either in education, care, or voluntary settings
• Be calm, empathetic, and proactive in a classroom environment
• Show a genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting child development
• Be considering a long-term career in teaching, therapy, or mental health

Your Role – What You’ll Be Doing - Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or emotional/social challenges
• Supporting teachers by adapting lesson content and materials for individual learners
• Encouraging pupils’ communication skills, confidence, and independence
• Helping manage routines and behaviour positively and consistently
• Reporting progress and key observations to the SENCo and classroom teachers
