KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proper Disposal of Waste and Recycling: Manage the proper disposal of restaurant waste and recycling materials, ensuring compliance with waste disposal guidelines for a clean and environmentally conscious restaurant space.
Good Knowledge of Menu and Restaurant Layout: Demonstrate good menu and restaurant layout knowledge, as well as site-specific working practices.
Take ownership of the Commis section/role: Assume responsibility for the Commis Waiter section/role, showcasing a proactive and dedicated approach to duties. This involves overseeing tasks, managing responsibilities effectively, performing additional duties assigned by the management and contributing to the overall success of the restaurant operations.
Provide Feedback to Managers: Provide feedback to managers regarding any guest comments, positive or negative, to enhance overall service quality.
Collaborate with the Restaurant Team for Workflow Efficiency: Work closely with the entire restaurant team to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow. This involves effective communication and cooperation to create a harmonious restaurant atmosphere.
Monitor Food and Drinks Timings and Specifications: Closely monitor the timing and quality of food and beverages, promptly notifying managers of any potential issues or concerns.
Ensure Cleanliness of Front-of-House Areas: Responsible for keeping the commis area and all front-of house areas clean, organized, and adequately always stocked, ensuring an efficient and presentable workspace.
Learn and Demonstrate Correct Procedures and Safe Working Practices: Exhibit a commitment to continuous learning and adherence to correct procedures. This includes staying informed about Bill’s specific protocols and incorporating safe working practices into daily responsibilities.
· Help the FOH team with all aspects of service
· Run food to tables
· Make sure all guests have everything they need whilst dining with us
· Deliver drinks to the guests
· Help clear tables and reset them for the next guest
· Polish cutlery and restock the stations
· Help keep the restaurant clean and tidy throughout service
Training
You will attend Exeter College one day per week during term-time to work towards your Production Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship.
Qualifications required
GCSE or equivalent 4/C or above in Maths and English.
Skills required

· Quick learner
· Friendly, confident way with guests and team
Prospects
Commi Waiter is the entry level for FOH service at Bill’s, once you have learnt all the aspects that this job role requires we can then evaluate which department you would be best suited to.
This may lead into waiter training where you will learn the full use of the till system and the full service standards for looking after our guests when the dine with us.
You may be more suited to the bar and we can fully train you on making our drinks menu and the use of our coffee machine.
From these departments if you show an interest in progressing further we have different levels of management that you may be interested in from Supervisor up to General Manager.

Duration 15 months
