Mitie Dungavel Immigration Removal Centre have an exciting position open for an Information Learning Centre Tutor.
As an ILC Tutor you will proactively promote, design, as necessary, and deliver workshops in relevant skills in the specialisms this tutor excels in: Arts, crafts, vocational skills, music and media, to meet the needs of the residents, and contractual requirements.
You will provide a safe, secure, stimulating, supportive and productive environment for residents that encourages them to attend and enables them to learn and develop their skills.
Salary is £32,316.48 over a 40-hour week.
Your main duties, but not exclusively will be to Provide a short induction to residents, welcoming them to the classroom to encourage their participation and ensure that the activities provided is relevant and interesting.
You will work proactively with staff and residents to provide artistic support for cultural events within the Centre.
You will be expected to develop, promote and deliver a range of workshops enabling residents to gain useful transferable skills. Whilst also developing, promoting and delivering a range of activities, competitions, events and projects supporting and encouraging all learners to enable them to achieve their learning objectives.
What we are looking for
-Be a UK citizen, Citizen of the Commonwealth with your own indefinite leave to remain (not through marriage) or EEA citizen.
-Have a valid and in date passport, with no restrictions on your stay in the UK. Please note Visa's in out-of-date passports cannot be accepted as proof of Right to Work in the UK. A Biometric card alongside a current in- date passport must be provided.
-Have continuously resided in the UK for the past 3 years. (No trips overseas longer than three months)
-Applicants must not have spent more than 3 months at any one time overseas during the previous 5 years.
-This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and Applicants must be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, complete employer referencing for the previous 5 years and vetting to the level of Counter Terrorist Checked (CTC) if offered a role.
-Full UK manual driving licence with no driving ban or disqualification within the previous 5 years.
-Not currently bankrupt.
You will have free access to the on-site Gym, be provided with free meals during the day, along with free parking and uniform.
We are located off the B743 just south of Strathaven, with major connections being into Hamilton, approximately 14 miles north of the IRC.
