Monmouthshire County Council is seeking two reliable and hardworking Ground Maintenance Operatives to join their Commercial & Operations team, supporting key services during a period of long-term staff sickness.
This is a hands-on role based at the Llanfoist Household Waste Recycling Centre—perfect for those who enjoy working outdoors, take pride in maintaining public spaces, and want to contribute to their local community.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake grounds maintenance tasks including grass cutting, hedge trimming, weed control, and litter picking
Support general building and site upkeep
Operate tools and small machinery safely and efficiently
Carry out regular checks and basic maintenance on equipment
Follow health and safety procedures and report any issues
Work effectively as part of a small, dedicated team

A good level of physical fitness and stamina
Previous experience in grounds or outdoor maintenance (preferred but not essential)
A proactive attitude and strong team spirit
Flexibility to work across various tasks and changing weather conditions
