Description
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Waste Driver - Manual Labour to join our team. This role is integral to our operation, as it involves not only driving but also engaging in various physical tasks associated with waste collection. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating waste collection vehicles and ensuring that they conduct their duties in compliance with all local laws and regulations. This position demands a high level of physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks in various weather conditions. You'll work closely with a team to manage waste disposal logistics effectively and contribute to environmental sustainability efforts within the community. As a Waste Driver, you will be expected to communicate effectively with team members and the public, ensuring a safe and efficient waste management process. Additionally, your punctuality, attention to detail, and commitment to safety will be critical as you work to meet our service expectations. Responsibilities
Safely operate waste collection vehicles on predetermined routes.
Perform manual labour tasks including lifting, loading, and unloading waste materials.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient waste collection operations.
Adhere to all local traffic laws and regulations while driving.
Communicate effectively with the public and respond to inquiries regarding waste management.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and equipment.
Requirements
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to different environments.
Prior experience in waste collection or a similar field is preferred but not required.
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends.
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 06:30
End Time: 16:00
Pay Per Hour: £15.50
