Remarkable Jobs are recruiting on behalf of a growing and professional organisation, currently seeking a reliable and detail-focused Payroll Clerk to join their friendly finance team based in PR6 8AB. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking to take on a hands-on, autonomous role within a supportive environment.
Payroll Clerk Role:
As a Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll across the business. Working closely with the finance and HR departments, you will ensure employees are paid correctly, on time, and in full compliance with all HMRC regulations.
Payroll Clerk Key Responsibilities:
• Process weekly and monthly payroll for a multi-site workforce.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure all employee information is accurate and up to date.
• Calculate pay, hours, overtime, bonuses, statutory deductions, and holiday pay.
• Submit RTI reports to HMRC and manage PAYE, NIC, and pension contributions.
• Administer starters, leavers, changes to salary, and contractual adjustments.
• Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and management.
• Assist with year-end duties including P60s, P45s, and P11Ds.
• Support with ad-hoc payroll and finance administrative tasks as required.
What They Are Looking For:
Essential:
• Experience in a payroll processing role
• Multi company processing
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and payroll software
• Solid understanding of current payroll legislation and statutory reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Desirable:
• Experience working across weekly and monthly payroll cycles.
• Knowledge of pension auto-enrolment schemes and holiday pay regulations.
• AAT Level 2, CIPP, or other relevant payroll/finance qualifications.
