Your Role
This role includes supporting the achievement of the council plan priority of ‘wellbeing in neighbourhoods’ and the One Stockport, One Future priority for ‘thriving neighbourhoods’. To achieve this you will work closely with partners in the VCFSE sector, GMCA and other stakeholders to streamline programme delivery and ensure we achieve the Live Well ambitions outlined within this plan.
From a practical perspective, this will involve
Setting out and executing the overall Live Well vision including roadmap and programmes of work to facilitate a relentless focus on delivery
Overseeing the Live Well implementation fund and other associated investment
Lead meetings, workshops, and presentations; demonstrating high levels of communication, persuasion, and collaboration. Prepare reports and briefings for senior management, members and other stakeholders as required.
Establish strategic relationships with partner agencies to share ideas, join-up and work together to achieve shared strategic Live Well vision and objectives e.g. other councils, public sector partners, VCFSE sector, GMCA, Government etc. Represent Stockport at meetings as required.
About You
The successful candidate will be an exceptional leader who will create an environment and culture of continuous improvement putting the customer experience at the heart of service delivery. They will also have extensive programme management experience and experience developing and/or implementing new delivery models across a large and complex organisation and partnership. They will be able to bring ideas to life through delivery, this includes managing the governance, strategic, tactical and business changes that support the strategy. This will include a strong knowledge and application of the “art of the possible” in terms of community power, engagement, public sector reform and asset based working best practice approaches.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and implementation of one of the Council’s core programmes of work. It will build on Stockport’s already successful neighbourhood model, with a well-established focus on prevention.
This role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to engage directly with local communities and strengthen Stockport’s ethos of partnership working and co-production. It will also support foster the creation of a data-driven culture, digital enabled workforce, related competencies and data literacy across the council, including creating compelling presentations and narratives for Live Well which shape and communicate the council’s strategic plans, progress on delivery and impact
