Site Manager

Thomas Ashton School, Audenshaw

NJC scale points 26-28: £36,124 - £37,938

36 hours 40 minutes per week / Full year

Commencing as soon as possible

Thomas Ashton School, part of New Bridge Multi-Academy Trust, is an ambitious and rapidly improving SEMH specialist school in Tameside, Greater Manchester. The school is expanding with projections to grow to 108 pupils, aged 5-14 by September 2025 and 120 by 2026. Our site at Lumb Lane in Audenshaw, has undergone a complete refurbishment and will provide four classes for our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students. The second site at Bennett Street site in Hyde, supports ten Key Stage 3 classes, including a group of Alternative Provision students.


The school recently joined New Bridge MAT, a vibrant, aspirational and inclusive multi-academy trust of six special schools and two specialist post-16 provisions across Oldham, Tameside and Rochdale. As part of the wider New Bridge Group there are also two post-19 provisions. The settings support a wide spectrum of needs from age 4-19 and beyond. The Trust is proud to be national leaders in Special Education and has a culture of creating outstanding opportunities for all. At the heart of the school ethos is a profound commitment to nurturing the whole child.


The Trustees are now looking to appoint a Site Manager, based at Thomas Ashton, Lumb lane, Audenshaw, and to work flexibly providing support, maintenance and general security at other NewBridge sites as necessary.


The successful candidate will be active and hands on to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day operations of the school. Ideally, they will have site experience and a background working in schools.

This post will be subject to a number of pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.


It will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here. Although based at Thomas Ashton Lower School (Upper & Lower), all staff are employed by the MAT and are expected to work at any site within the New Bridge Group if requested.


Salary: NJC scale points 26-28: £36,124 - £37,938
