Who we are…
BS3 Community Development is an independent charity-run nursery working across two sites in Southville and Bedminster: these are The Southville Centre and The Chessel Centre. Our charity aims to improve the lives and well-being of people who live and work within the BS3 postcode and we are looking for our newest team member to help us to achieve this goal.
About you and the role…
You are motivated, reliable and passionate about supporting children during our busy lunch period. Your role involves supporting the smooth running of the nursery during lunch time and includes laundry and washing items. If you are interested in assisting with activities and experiences for children, this is something we can support with. Some previous related experience is desirable including food hygiene training; however, we would be willing to offer training and support to the right candidate.
Our promise to our staff…
We are committed to supporting our staff team to help them fulfil their ambitions, with 20% of our early years team currently undertaking CPD training. We understand how important the job as an Early Years Lunchtime Assistant is and the difference that you will make to the smooth running of our daily routine.
We encourage you to add value to our children’s experiences, so welcome additional offers such as baking, food preparation activities and gardening. We are proud to provide mentoring support and supervision for our staff.
Projects we are involved in...
The Bristol Standards, the Ambitious Two-Year Olds Project and the Bristol City Council Refugees Project. Internally, we invite staff to participate in special interest action groups, including our Garden and Outdoor Learning Committee and our Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) group. We are excited to hear your thoughts on these, and many other, exciting projects that enhance our practice and develop how we care for and educate the children in our care.
Hours: 15 Hours per week, Three hours a day from 11:00 to 14:00
Rate of Pay: £9,854.46 (£12.60 per hour).
Required qualification: Some previous related experience is desirable including food hygiene training; however, we would be willing to offer training and support to the right candidate.
Closing date: 1st of August or when position is filled.
SAFEGUARDING NOTE: As this role is working in a “regulated activity” according to the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006, the successful applicant will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate (DBS).
We are committed to equality and diversity and are actively seeking people with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.
We know that to successfully fulfil our vision (aim) we need a truly diverse workforce that reflects the society we serve.
Let us know if you require any adaptations or further support to apply for this job.
