Wed, 16 Jul 2025Are you naturally curious, driven by improvement, and passionate about making meaningful change? We’re looking for a proactive and results-focused Change Specialist to join the Homes Business and help us continually challenge the way we do things and evolve how we work — for the benefit of both our customers and our colleagues.
Who Are We?
Not just another building society. Not just another job.
We're the fourth biggest building society in the UK and what makes us a bit different is that we're a mutual organisation. We don't have shareholders; we're owned by our members.
Our colleagues say Skipton's a great place to work, and you could be one of them, bringing with you new ideas on how we can keep customers at the heart of what we do.
Whatever your background, and whatever your goals, we'll help you take the next step towards a better future.
As part of Homes Advice, you’ll be joining a dynamic and customer-obsessed team responsible for helping direct mortgage customers from their initial enquiry through to full mortgage application. We also provide expert advice to our members on variations to existing mortgages, ensuring they receive the best possible support throughout their journey.
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do - we work closely with teams across the Homes business and key stakeholders organisation wide to deliver great customer outcomes and experiences. Our culture is built on curiosity, bravery, accountability, and collaboration, and we bring these behaviours to life every day.
The core role is to facilitate and drive change across our homes business and to customer journeys. You will need to embrace change, think flexibly and promote agility across the teams.
What’s In It For You?
Skipton values work/life balance and we are proud to support hybrid and flexible working, where possible. We have a newly refurbished head office which offers a vibrant and collaborative working space.
We have a range of other benefits available to you including;
Annual discretionary bonus scheme
25 days standard annual leave + bank holidays + rising 1 day per year of service to a maximum of 30 days
Holiday trading scheme allowing the ability to buy and sell additional annual leave days
Matching employer pension contribution (up to 10% per annum)
Colleague mortgage (conditions apply)
Salary sacrifice scheme for hybrid & electric car
A commitment to training and development
Private medical insurance for all our colleagues
3 paid volunteering days per annum
Diverse and inclusive colleague networks available for you to join including our Carers and Pride Alliance groups
We care about your health and wellbeing – we provide a range of benefits that support this including cycle to work initiative and discounted gym membership
What Will You Be Doing?
In this pivotal role, you’ll immerse yourself in our business to uncover opportunities for process improvements and change. By engaging closely with our teams, you’ll identify what’s working, what could be better, and what needs to change - taking ownership of delivering these improvements, from scoping and stakeholder engagement to implementation and measurement, ensuring they align with our broader business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with teams across the business to understand pain points and improvement opportunities
Acting as part investigator, part innovator – working in an agile way to test and adapt and deliver change that has real, measurable impact
Collaborating with the Mortgage Hub supporting wider-scale change initiatives, representing Homes Advice – considering the impact on our work
You’ll be accountable for leading end to end process improvement initiatives, from idea to impact and beyond, ensuring leaders and wider team are kept informed
Considering risk, impact, and strategic alignment in all proposed changes
Building clear, evidence-based benefit cases to support decision making and prioritisation
Monitor impact post-implementation to ensure changes are delivering the intended outcomes
Ensure no detail is overlooked — never walking past something that could be better
Stay relentlessly focused on results, outcomes, and the bigger picture.
What Do We Need From You?
Knowledge and experience Mortgages is essential to this role
Proven experience leading change and process improvement in an agile environment
Strong curiosity and a desire to deeply understand how things work — and how they could work better
High levels of accountability, with a commitment to seeing initiatives through to completion
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Persistence and resilience — able to keep things moving even when challenges arise
Attention to detail and the ability to spot inefficiencies or issues others might miss
Strategic thinking — always considering the broader business impact of any change
A self-motivated, proactive approach and the ability to work independently
Why Join Us?
You’ll be part of a team that values improvement, innovation, and making things better — not just for the sake of it, but to create real value for our people and our customers. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and love seeing your ideas turn into lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you
