As a Civils Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of civil engineering works, including earthworks, drainage, roads and utilities. You'll work closely with the pre-construction and delivery teams to ensure tenders are commercially sound and aligned with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed cost estimates from first principles
- Analyse drawings, specifications and project requirements
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes
- Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering options
- Support bid submissions and attend tender review meetings
- Maintain and update estimating databases and cost libraries
- Proven experience in a similar Estimator role within civil engineering or groundworks
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and pricing
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- A background in site engineering, quantity surveying or project management would be highly beneficial
