Join us at the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) as a Resource Readiness Advisor. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact by ensuring our operational teams are equipped with the right talent and capabilities to deliver exceptional service. You’ll lead and support the talent acquisition process, collaborate with internal and external partners to maintain a strong candidate pipeline, and ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new starters.

You’ll also play a vital role in developing our existing workforce by supporting operational managers in creating and reviewing development plans and working with our quality and training teams to commission impactful training initiatives. As we prepare for further growth, your contributions will help shape a connected, capable, and values-driven hybrid workforce.

You will help ensure we have the right people and skills in place to serve our customers effectively—while fostering strong, happy, and well-connected home-based teams. Occasional travel will be required to support this important work.

You’ll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to helping people across the UK improve their financial wellbeing.

Role Overview

The Resource Readiness Advisor will report directly to Workforce Planning Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

Resource Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies aligned with business growth, in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Maintain job descriptions, build a talent pipeline, and create recruitment materials to attract high-quality candidates.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal HR and external recruitment partners to optimise hiring processes.

Departmental Onboarding

  • Lead the creation and maintenance of induction materials, ensuring alignment with training and performance needs.
  • Oversee smooth onboarding transitions, supporting line managers with early-stage goal setting and development.

Workforce Planning

  • Collaborate with the workforce planning team to ensure a steady flow of talent that meets service and operational demands.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Training teams to align recruitment timelines and support successful probation outcomes.

Employee Integration & Support

  • Act as a key contact for new hires during probation, tracking progress and identifying development needs.
  • Support line managers with team and individual development and lead initiatives to enhance wellbeing and hybrid working.

You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience.

To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience in a recruitment and workforce development function, with a focus on large-scale operations.
  • Experience of managing or supporting staff performance and development
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to form effective and collaborative relationships.
  • Organisational at Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy and consistency in the recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Cultural Fit: Strong alignment with our values of integrity, transparency, and customer-centricity.

Flexible Working
At MaPS, we take pride in our flexible approach to work. As standard, we work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and our headquarters in Bedford will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs, but personal and other relevant circumstances will also be considered. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.

Career Development

Reserve List
If you are successful at interview, we operate a reserve list where your details will be held for up to 6 months. Should a vacancy come available in that time with the same essential criteria, reserve list candidates will be offered that position with no further assessment required.
