Job title: Assistant Commercial Manager

Location: RAF - Bury St Edmunds - Mildenhall - Building 680

Role: Full Time



Mitie are looking for a motivated Assistant Commercial Manager to help support the delivery of excellent Customer Service through various channels of communication ensuring that business objectives are met in a professional and confident manner.



Main Duties

-Act as the main commercial point of contact on site for any day-to-day commercial queries

-Submit monthly core application and liaise with the client to action any queries and ensure prompt payment

-Provide input to budgets/AOPs, highlight anomalies, and advise on necessary changes

-Prepare and validate monthly accruals and develop monthly finance reports alongside the team

-Review and develop procedures and financial controls to monitor labour, plant, material and sub-contractor costs

-Monitor any budget variances and escalate or action changes where required

-Monitor financial performance of the contract and inform the Commercial Manager of any emerging issues

-Attend SIMM meetings and commercial meetings as the designated commercial lead

-Monitor, action, and record any contract changes; provide pricing and documentation related to changes in the core price

-Help maintain the Risk Register and advise on commercial impact of identified risks

-Work with Procurement teams to ensure all necessary orders are in place for PPM works

-Provide commercial advice on contractual queries and support drafting responses to the client or internal teams

-Provide support when reviewing Failure Notices and assist with the wording and review of Potential Failure Notices (PFNs)Monitor contract costs (e.g. subcontractor spend, fleet charges) to ensure cost control and avoid unnecessary expenditure

-Identify and lead cost-saving initiatives to improve contract margin

-Update and maintain the Fraud Risk Register in line with internal governance requirements

-Participate in lessons learned or post-project reviews to identify areas for commercial improvement

-Support development of junior staff where applicable

-Input and maintain all required commercial records in Maximo, Coupa, or any other IT system used

-Build strong relationships with Core and Project teams to enable accurate reporting and appropriate contract administration.



What we are looking for

-Experience of working preferably within a target driven role, or high pressure service delivery environment.

-Keen sense of ownership, taking responsibility for their own performance and maintaining a positive attitude at all times.

-Excellent organising and planning skills.

-Confident decision maker who is competent and can make the right decision taking into account their knowledge, experience and analysis.

-Commercial Awareness

-Confident user of IT systems, including proficiency in MS word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint.

-Well organised, driven and flexible with the ability to multi-task.

-Able to apply a logical approach to solving problems.

-Able to remain calm under pressure and can communicate effectively across all levels.

-Excellent attention to detail.

-Skilful in dealing with challenging customer queries in a compassionate and sympathetic manner.

-Able to embrace and adapt to change and learn from experience.
