An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Housing Team at South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council whilst undertaking and successfully completing a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.
You will receive support from the Devon Home Choice Manager, Devon Home Choice Officers and from the wider Housing teams.
About the role
As the Devon Home Choice Business Support Apprentice, you will be supporting the Devon Home Choice Team to manage the Housing register. This will include assessing applications and awarding the level of priorities for applicants in line with the Devon Home Choice policy, undertaking renewals, and working with customers to enable them to access and understand the Devon Home Choice housing register. You will also work closely with the Housing Enabling and Housing Options teams, giving you the opportunity to learn about a wide range of services.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable administrative experience and improve your communication and interpersonal skills in a front facing, customer service role.
You will need to be calm and empathetic, with the ability to be assertive and resilient.
This position is based across our offices in Tavistock and Totnes as required, however there is significant flexibility with regards to some homeworking.
