Are you flexible, looking for a challenge and a role where no two days are the same? Then this is the role for you!
We are looking for an experienced administrator to work flexibly within our Children and Young People’s Service to support Senior Leaders. Excellent customer care and communication skills are essential along with the ability to work as part of a team or independently using your own initiative.
The successful candidate will provide a full and varied administrative support function to Senior Leaders including diary management, dealing with highly confidential information and tasks on their behalf, to support with arranging meetings, preparing agendas, and taking and distributing minutes for internal, multi-agency and partnership meetings, dealing with telephone calls, and supporting Senior Leaders to add or review information on the Children’s database and HR and Finance systems.
It is essential that you are an experienced and confident minute taker and are able to use a laptop to take minutes at all meetings. Accuracy and attention to detail is essential as many tasks are required to be completed within statutory timescales.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you are fully aware of all aspects of data protection and confidentiality as you will be working in an environment dealing with extremely sensitive and emotive information on a daily basis including information relating to the abuse and injuries to children and young people.
Core office hours are 8:30-17:00 Monday to Thursday and 8:30-16:30 on Friday. The post is part of the flexi time scheme and currently operates hybrid working with a mix of office and home working.
A standard DBS check and clearance will be required for the post.
Wakefield Council employees have access to a full induction programme and mandatory training, corporate offers and discounts from local and national companies on a wide range of products and services, including discounted travel tickets and leisure membership.
If you would like any further information, please contact Ruth Kaye – Senior Secretary, Partnerships and Governance or Jenni Hanmer Secretary to Service Director
