Location: Orchard House, Lincoln (Hybrid Working)
Contract Type: Temporary – 13 July to 1 December 2025 Hours:
Full-time | 37 hrs/week | 08:30–17:00
Rate: £13.69/hour PAYE | £17.72/hour Umbrella
About the Role
Lincolnshire County Council is seeking a friendly and confident Finance Technician (Grade 5) to support front-line customer contact across Credit Control, Adult Care Charges, and Income Services. You’ll be the first point of telephone contact, helping to resolve queries and guide service users in a professional and supportive way.
This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills and a keen eye for financial accuracy who wants to build valuable experience within public finance operations.
️ Key Responsibilities
Answer incoming calls and respond to queries relating to adult care charges and income
Provide accurate advice and support to service users and internal teams
Carry out initial triage and direct complex enquiries to the appropriate team
Support Credit Control and Finance colleagues with administrative tasks
Maintain accurate records and ensure data protection compliance
✅ Candidate Essentials
Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent
AAT qualification (or equivalent experience) desirable
Proven customer service and communication skills
Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
Must be office-based in central Lincoln for the first 2 weeks (training)
After induction: Hybrid working, with Wednesdays in office + 1 flexible office day/week
