Please note this is not a Swansea city council job. You will be working with a private client who received direct payments.
A little about myself:
I am 25-year-old woman with Down’s Syndrome and Type 1 diabetes (controlled with insulin). I live alternate weeks with my parents in Swansea and Pontardawe. My favourite thing to do is go for lovely walks and go for lunch in nice a cafe with my friends. I would like to go to nice restaurants for a meal. I enjoy going to the cinema to watch my favourite musical movies and Tenpin bowling and a little bit of shopping for makeup and jewellery. I also like to go to the theatre to watch my favourite musicals
Driver required to take me out.

Hours of work
Saturday 11:00 – 17:00 (flexible to my needs)
Rate of pay.
£12.75
Essential:
I need you to:
• Drive and support me with activities e.g. theatre; cinema; café; shops
• Accompany me to watch a performance
• Ensure I am safe, including with my diabetes treatment (in liaison with my parents)
• Help me with making my decisions about food and healthy eating
Desirable
I’d prefer if:
• you have previous experience
I’d like support with
• Washing, dressing and using the toilet (only when necessary)
I will need my PA to:
Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over.
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
Concerning the position
A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
