Graduate Science Unqualified Teacher: Candidate Specification
We are seeking a Graduate Science Unqualified Teacher who:
• Holds (or will hold by September 2025) a 2:1 or First Class degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related STEM subject from a top‑30 University
• Has a strong academic record, including excellent GCSEs and A‑Levels in Science and Maths
• Shows a genuine passion for science and a long-term interest in teaching or educational research
• Has excellent verbal and written communication, strong organisational skills, and the confidence to lead classroom sessions
• Previous experience in education as a classroom TA, tutor, mentor, or volunteer (desirable)
Graduate Science Unqualified Teacher: Job Role
As a Graduate Science Unqualified Teacher, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 & 4
• Leading small‑group interventions and 1:1 support to boost student understanding and confidence
• Supporting lesson preparation, practical experiments, and classroom management
• Tracking pupil progress, marking exercise books, and providing constructive feedback
• As a Graduate Science Unqualified Teacher you will be collaborating with the Science department to co-develop schemes of work and enrichment activities
