Location: Ty Penallta/ Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Financial Services Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £25,584 - £27,269 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to complete financial assessments for client contributions towards social care services.
You will collect and validate financial information accurately and timely, check entitlement to benefits, and refer cases to the DWP where necessary to help maximise clients’ income. Providing welfare benefit advice is also a key part of the role.
You must be an effective communicator with the ability to engage with clients and their representatives as well as staff and managers at all levels. You need to have experience in a financial environment and knowledge of welfare benefits.
Familiarity with Social Services charging policies is an advantage but not essential, as training will be provided. Strong IT skills, be highly organised, logical thinker, and have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines are essential in this extremely busy section.
For the role, we ask that you have:
1. 5 GCSEs Grade A*-C to include Mathematics and English Language or equivalent relevant qualifications, or a relevant Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example NVQ2 Finance, Administration or Management.
2. Good IT skills and ability to demonstrate a proficiency in a range of Microsoft packages especially Word and Excel.
3.Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough visit service users and/or their representatives in their own homes and attend meetings.
