Who we are:

The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity based in Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex community that has been working with people with a Learning Disability and autistic people since 1898. Our mission is to work towards being led by people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people to deliver high-quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. The people we support tell us that they want “good support from kind and friendly people” – so that is what we are looking for!

Do you love theme parks and rollercoasters?

Are you enthusiastic, outgoing, and passionate about making a difference in someone’s life? Grace Eyre is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to accompany and support an individual with autism on weekly visits to Chessington World of Adventures every Friday during the open season. When the parks are closed for the season the support will be to attend other outings in the community.

Introduction to the Role

This is a unique opportunity to combine fun and purpose. You’ll be supporting a person with autism to enjoy a full day at the theme park, including going on rides and engaging in activities. Your role will be to ensure the day runs smoothly, is enjoyable, and supports the individual’s needs throughout.

Person Specification

We’re looking for someone who is:

Enthusiastic, outgoing, and comfortable in busy environments
Confident going on rides and engaging positively throughout the day
Experienced in supporting people with autism (personal or professional)
Patient, reliable, and up for a fun and active day every Friday
A driver with access to a car (essential for this role) – Mileage reimbursed at £0.45 per mile
The individual you’ll be supporting has asked for someone who is kind, patient, well-organised, and trustworthy.

Training & Support

An understanding of autism and active support is preferred, but not essential — full training will be provided.

Apply today and turn your love for theme parks into a meaningful role!
