We are looking for a bright, hardworking individual to join us as a Facilities Summer Intern.
An opportunity has arisen at Redruth Town Council for a confident, diligent, and quick to learn Facilities Assistant looking for a starter role for their CV.
Would you like the opportunity to see how a local government facilities team works and experience working with a team out in the fresh air around the parish of Redruth?
We are looking for 2024/25 school leavers or college students who are seeking Facilities experience and are ambitious to get stuck into their first role, where they can learn and really prove themselves.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible to:
Facilities Manager
Job Purpose:
To maintain, repair, and improve assets owned, leased, and maintained under contract by Redruth Town Council, including historic buildings, retail areas, street furniture, playgrounds, parks, open green spaces, and footpaths.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• To provide administrative support to the Town Council facilities team.
• To always act in a socially responsible way, ensuring your behaviour, actions, and decisions consider the sustainability of resources, the Climate, and the Environment.
• Upkeep, repair, and improvement of the Council’s properties
• Removal of litter, detritus, weeds (by hand), organic material, dumped items, and man-made materials from both hard and soft landscaped areas on Redruth Town Council-owned property and designated areas in the public realm.
• To work flexibly within the Redruth Town Council team as required.
Person Specification for the Facilities Assistant Summer Internship
Educational Qualifications
GCSE 4 or above or Equivalent in English and Maths (Or predicted grades)
Skills and Knowledge
• Good listening, oral and literacy skills
• ICT skills, including the ability to use the internet to access relevant information
• Organising time and work to deadlines
Personal Attributes
• Able to maintain confidentiality and impartiality
• Sympathetic to the needs of others
• Open to learning
• Good interpersonal skills
