Rigging Supervisor – Hinkley Point C (HPC)

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset

Duration: Long Term

Rate/Package

Rate: £31.92 p/h

Core Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:00 – 17:00 (40-minute break)


Overtime Pay:

  • Fridays & Saturdays (before midday) – x1.4


  • Saturdays (after midday) & Sundays – x1.8


  • Note: Overtime applies after first full working week



    Role Responsibilities:

    • Plan and oversee complex lifting operations, including coordination with sub-contract mobile and heavy-lift cranes.


    • Operate overhead cranes and hydraulic jacking equipment safely and efficiently.


    • Direct lifting teams and operators to ensure precise movement of large components.


    • Conduct inspections of loads, determine weight and lifting methods, and ensure correct use of lifting equipment.


    • Install and maintain slings, pulleys, chains, wire/fibre ropes, and other rigging gear.


    • Assist other trades when required and promote cross-functional teamwork.


    • Uphold strict adherence to all health, safety, and quality procedures.


      Key Requirements:
      • Ability to interpret lifting plans, drawings, and specifications.


      • Proven experience operating rigging and erecting tools, jacks, and associated equipment.


      • Minimum 2 Years Expereince in executing heavy and complex lifts involving piping systems, tanks, steelwork, and pressure vessels.


      • Effective communication and leadership skills.


      • Competent in carrying out safety checks, risk assessments, and safe equipment operation.


        Required Qualifications:
        • Full Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 / ACE Card (in Erecting or Moving Loads).


        • CCNSG Safety Passport, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent HSE training.


        • Relevant certifications to operate site/workshop lifting equipment (including Forklift if required).
