List of duties:
Food Preparation – Assist with prepping fresh ingredients, from vegetables to proteins, ensuring high-quality standards.
Cooking & Plating – Support the chefs in cooking dishes to perfection and plating them beautifully.
Maintaining Cleanliness & Hygiene – Follow food safety standards, keeping work areas clean and organised.
Assisting with Specials & Seasonal Menus – Contribute to the creation of daily and weekly specials using the best local ingredients.
Learning & Development – Work alongside experienced chefs, gaining hands-on experience and developing new skills.
Stock Management & Rotation – Help with stock control, ensuring ingredients are fresh and stored correctly.
Teamwork & Communication – Work efficiently as part of a busy kitchen team, supporting colleagues during service.
Ensuring Consistency & Quality – Follow recipes
Training
Level 2 Professional Chef qualification. Attendance at College one day a week for theory and practical knowledge. Skills officer visits to workplace 6-8 weeks.
Qualifications required
Ideally Maths and English GCSE 4/C
Skills required
Basic Knife Skills ideally – Some experience handling kitchen knives
Attention to Hygiene & Cleanliness – Understanding the importance of keeping a clean and safe kitchen.
