The primary aim of the Senior information analyst is to collect, analyse, and interpret data to extract meaningful insights and inform decision-making. This involves identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies within datasets to help the organisation improve performance, solve problems, and make better-informed choices.
· Work with the SWLP’s Information Systems Manager to ensure information needs are supported in a timely and accurate manner.
· Provide proactive support to Disciplines and Senior Leadership, providing them with evidence and advice to support service planning and business development decisions.
· Support SWLP project initiatives with information, often complex analysis and advice as required.
· Develop and provide high quality and timely management reports, performance scorecards and ad hoc analysis to support a range of service requirements (operational; audit and financial).
· Support analysis of Partner demand management and efficiency improvements and work with Partner representatives, operational teams and clinical leadership to recommend improvements.
· Act as the organisation’s information representative at key meetings and discussions throughout SWLP and Partner organisation.
Support the ongoing development of analytical capabilities within SWLP.

You would be joining SWL Pathology at an exciting period of its development, where services have transitioned into a hub and spoke model along with the implementation of new analytical systems.
We are currently recruiting for a Senior information Analyst to join our Informatics team at SWLP. This is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate your expertise in supporting SWLPs strategic and operational use of data throughout the organisation
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively. A background in health informatics, data science, or a related field, along with experience in the NHS or healthcare sector, is desirable.
The post-holder will be a self-motivated and well-organised team player with a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and a methodical approach to tasks.

1. Develop and maintain own specialist analytical skills employing these to aid SWLP’s decision making processes.
2. Apply your information knowledge and expertise to proactively support SWLP’s information requirements. Including, but not limited to, information and advice on benchmarking, performance metrics, scenario modelling, demand predictions and capacity assessments.
3. Use your management skills to manage workload and priorities to efficiently and cooperatively to meet SWLP’s information needs through the provision of regular reports, scorecards / dashboards, advice and ad hoc analyses.
4. Take responsibility for designated statutory returns, ensuring these are prepared, data quality assured, signed-off and submitted on time.
5. Act as the information ambassador for SWLP in SWLP meetings and discussions, including with external bodies (e.g. Partner Trusts, commissioners, auditors, NHS England)
6. Develop a close understanding of SWLP and adopt a pro-active approach to problem solving and anticipating and evaluating information needs. Build working relations with the Partner and Customer Representatives, Discipline Teams, in particular with Discipline Leads and Clinical Leads.
7. Analyse SWLP performance, investigating the underlying causes and highlighting key issues for discussion and action. Ensure that management are aware of key issues and risks highlighted by divisional information.
8. Work with Finance, Partner Representatives and Discipline colleagues to support the development and use of Discipline Reporting with Divisions.
