Are you an experienced Orthopaedic Nurse or ODP looking for your next role?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the Team Leader role in Orthopaedics and Trauma within theatres at our Southend site.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Theatre Manager on both the management and development of our brilliant team. Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading and supporting the orthopaedics and trauma team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
• Collaborating with the Theatre Manager to implement and maintain best practices.
• Overseeing the day-to-day operations within the orthopaedics and trauma department.
• Providing mentorship and guidance to team members to foster professional growth and development.

Oversee the efficient management and coordination of the Trauma and Orthopaedics theatre ensuring high quality patient care and service delivery.
• This role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise and effective team management to support both staff and patients.
• Provide strong professional leadership to enhance quality of care and boost staff morale.
• Serve as a role model for behaviors that foster a blame-free culture and promote teamwork.
• Participate in the 24-hour operational management of the Main Theatre unit.
• Communicate daily with the designated Floor Person (Main Theatre Coordinator) and Floor Consultants to ensure smooth workflow.
• Identify business continuity challenges and implement solutions, with support where required.
• Take responsibility for ensuring adequate staffing for theatre list and escalate concerns to the Theatre Manager.
• Advise the Theatre Manager on resource requirements and ensure the specialty operates within budget constraints.
• Maintain high standards of clinical care, ensuring patient and staff safety in all activities.
