Mechanical Engineer | Strood | 40 hour week plus paid overtime | £35,000-£45,000 per annum negotiable subject to experience

For many years our client has been providing automation solutions to all sectors of the manufacturing industry, making them a leading UK-based Industrial Robot integrator and Automation Systems supplier.

You will work 8am-16:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break at 1pm. You will also have two tea breaks at 10am and 3pm (flexible subject to workload).

Are you the right person for the job?

• You will have proven mechanical experience in the industry
• Experience with mechanical fitting, assembling various equipment, building and servicing conveyors, manufacturing equipment, and industrial robots is all highly desirable
• Experience with CNC machines and/or turning would also be a great benefit but not a necessity
• Any candidates suitably demonstrating the required ability and aptitude outside of this skill zone will also be considered for training courses in other fields such as robot programming and PLC programming, if they wish
• Must be a competent problem solver and be hands-on
• Have an understanding of engineering drawings and mechanical design principles
• You are comfortable travelling, working on-site and staying away
• You are a team player and able to demonstrate good communication skills
• Electrical knowledge/experience is desirable but not critical for this role
• Full UK driving licence is required

What will your role look like?

• The role will involve mechanical assembly and installation of bespoke robotic based automation systems, working predominantly in-house but also assisting with installations at customer sites across the UK (and occasionally abroad)
• Providing feedback and advice on solutions to the designers
• Working on innovative systems
• Role could develop into commissioning if desired, this would require knowledge on PLC and Robot programming and not a requirement.
